A month ago I posted "Flow meter for evrebody". Recently I made several improvements and now I can offer extemly accurate, very small, easy to operate, safety, and still unexpensive device for nitro RC boaters. By request I will e-mail test results of NEW FLOW METER.

This Flow Meter will be very useful addition for toolbox or even start box.

Contact phone is (901) 233-6110.

Thanks. Boris Mazor

Question about the procedure in your manual - Once you have found your best needle setting, wouldn't you have to change your needle setting when the temperature and the barometric pressure (or air density) changes?

Once you find your best carb needle setting on a given day you then use this flow meter to get a reading on that setting. As an example. Let us say that you get a reading of 376 on the meter from this good run.. That becomes your base. The next time you go to the pond to run your boat - let us say a week later - hook up the flow meter. Let us say you get a reading of 290. Just adjust your carb needle until the meter reads 376. Now start the engine & you will be right on the money. You will have adjusted your carb for any difference in air density from your original base setting. This is the exact method that you were using with the old type flow meter - the one with the magnahelic & propane gas tank - just that this new one is 50 times smaller & more compact (that is no exageration) than the magnahelic propane tank one & all you do is keep charging the battery - no expense in gas tank replacemeant & worry about the propane tank running low & constantly fiddling with your regulator to maintain an even flow. This new meter has a very accurate ,miniature air pump that maintains even pressure and a voltage regulator to maintain even voltage to the air pump so your readings are much more accurate. Leave it to a retired engineer who runs model boats to build a better mousetrap. I just purchased one and I marvel at the solid, compact, quality construction. Even the wooden case housing the components is a quality piece of construction. This unit should last a long time.

Flow meter will not replace your experience, but it will help you start with proper (but not exact) setting of carb, will help you to check range of adjustments for third channel, transfer settings to another boat (if engine is the same). Final settings will depend of the temperature and the barometric pressure (or air density) changes. Description of procedure in the manual aimed to beginners. You are not beginner, you perhaps will find how to get more using flow meter. I will be glad for all comments you made!

Thanks. Boris
