New! Florida Gas Racing Series

Florida Gas Racing Series (FGRS)

Brian Watts, Director

Objective:

This one-day gas racing series is to enhance the racing opportunities within the State of Florida. In addition, by having this series as gas only, it will not conflict with the current WCRA or District 3 High Points racing series. This series is aimed towards the following individuals:

•Individuals who are currently sport boaters and are looking to make the transition to the racing circuit and learn the NAMBA racing rules before attempting to race in the WCRA or District 3 High Points Series

•Individuals who currently race and wish to hone their racing skills

•Individuals who are interested in the hobby; and are potential Club members

•Flexibility for individuals who run gas boats that may not yet be authorized classes within the District 3 High Points or WCRA racing series

How the series will work:

Six one-day races will be held on Sundays during calendar year 2006. Races will be hosted by the Orlando Culvert Dodgers, Inc., and we welcome other registered Clubs in Florida who are interested in participating.

Race Dates will be announced after the District Meeting to be held next week

Entries will be $12.00 per boat.

Racing will begin at 9:00am and will end at the completion of 3 rounds of racing, weather and time permitted.

Total scores will be accumulated throughout the series, and will not be converted to 1st – 10th point scores. At the end of the series, awards or prizes will be awarded to the top 3 positions for each class.

If your Club is interested in participating, please have an Officer contact Brian Watts by December 31, 2005 at (407) 913-0590.

What will run:

The classes are as follows:

GX1 Mono

GX1 Catamaran

GX1 Crackerbox

GX1 Sport Hydro

GX1 Rigger

Offshore

Multi Engine

Stock Mono Class is a possible addition if enough interest is shown.

We look forward to hearing any of your comments, so please email clicking the link below.

If you are only running gas it should be a much shorter day. How about starting a little later so out of towners can leave home at a somewhat reasonable hour.
