Thanks

Tim,

I am not concerned about the strength of the system, but the stiffness. I can easily flex the sponsons on the boat I have in the shed. That is what I dont like!

Andrew, my comment was not about sponson width per se, but the stance, or distance between them. Looks narrow compared to the current crop of SG's etc, which also have slim sponsons and tubs. Altho of course that is something that is easily changed! ;D

Saugling

Was it you building the 90 rigger with steel sponson booms and bolt on sponsons?

Ian.

Ian, that was Shnick's .90 rigger 8)

And I really can not flex my sponsons ... 100% stiffness ... even without VIAGRA ;D

Ops, sorry! ;D

Hmmm, maybe the one I have was not buit very well? :-

I am trying to work out a strong and light weight way of doing the system with carbon or glass fibre booms.

Ian.

Nitrocrazed

I cant flex mine - even on the electric! and with 12 cells it is the slightly heavier than a 3.5 nitro rigger rtr - the 3.5 uses thicker booms too - we have worked ont his and the first few goes didnt get it right

I have a couple of setups a wider and a standard (that is same ratios as the larger nitro hulls) stance

With electrics we have found there are a few threshholds which it doesnt do to go below in terms of clearance when on step and sponson spacing - I imagine the .12 guys will encounter these too - simply a matter of stability and what range of conditions the baots are usable in

Mike

why are you glad you ordered something else?? I must be mssing something

BTW the 90 rigger is 43.75" overall very light and running beautifully at present

We also have .21/3.5 and .45/7.5 versions in glass and cf

I asked a question about the 90 almost two weeks ago, but realized you had some issues on the home front & waited. Then you answered questions from others, but not mine.

I fiquired you still had a problem with me regarding the neo 480 I blew on the 8 cells you told me not to use a few years back.. Remember me now? ;D

I apologize for being a jerk. Then & now.

I just ordered a Ellison rigger for my M&D 260 because Im boatless at the moment. But wish I could have seen your 90 before I made a decision.

no sweat

no issues re the 480 or anything else - I hadnt meant ot overlook your ?'s

I would have posted pics but the cam was taken so I am stuck p[ic-less for a little while 0- its very inconvenient digital cameras may not yet have film qual (they will in a year or two) but they are the best for getting information to people
