Hi everybody,

I took my carb apart of my Picco .67EXR Bluehead and forgot to count the amount of turns :(

Can somebody tell me what the standard needle settings are?

Mr. Unlimited,

There aren't really any standard needle settings but a

good place to start is at about 4 1/4 turns and adjust it from there. To many variables when setting a needle,

ie pipe length, % of nitro in fuel, humidity, weight of boat,

prop type and size. I find the ultimate pipe length for either the Pico 67 EXR or the CMB Cam Hydro motors is around the 11" mark, + or - 1/8" on mono's and out-rigger hydros, scale hydro's like it around the 11 7/8" to 12 1/4" mark, heavier boat, running an Octura X-series prop.

Thanks,

I'm running 25% nitro (nitro is expensive here in Europe) and a pipe length 0f 12 3/4 inch in mijn 1/8scale hydroplane.

Mr. U, budpilot is telling you right, make the pipe 12 1/8 in. bottom out the needle and turn it out 4 1/2 turns, and definitely up the nitro to 50% will give you a much faster boat and a better throttle response. If nitro is hard to get in Europe, check around to see which clubs make their own fuel or who is the fuel GURU. I race 1/8th scale as well so good luck and keep us posted 8)
