No put it on HRS and your problem will be worse, causing servos to let the smoke out

Rick

I didn't think you could mix servos even on PPM. Does the digital servos work OK on PPM?

Bill

As far as I knew a digital would work fine on any rx, regardless of what else is plugged in. A guy in my club is running a digital for rudder in his sport 20 and I'm pretty sure the throttle and 3rd channel are analogs.

Those caps are usually used where you have electronic speed controls or servos with a very large power demand. I used my cap until the wire broke, and fwiw, I never bought a new one.

Sounds like you have a bad pot on the transmitter's third channel. Does it glitch when moving the third channel?? Does it glitch when not moving the third channel, but moving the other channels?? Does putting a different servo on that channel change things. Sometimes opening up the trans and putting some corrosion x on the pot terminals where they enter the pot case helps if they are a little corroded there. But the best solution is a new pot.

2s LiFe is OK without a regulator, I run one in Mt 1/12 scale pan car, and all the nitro car guys use them as well sand regulator. You would need a regulator for LiPo however, unless your rx and servos are rated for it.

If you are not using HV servos its just a matter of time that you will nuke the servos on 2S Life.

I of course will recommend the Futaba regulator BUT.. the little 10amp Castle unit works too.

If the servo says 4.8 OR 6V.. you are asking for trouble not using a reg with Life.. (TRUST ME)

Why did I start using regulators.. simple.. I lost a model due to using Life without HV servos and a reg.. Im dollars behind because of my stupidity.. no more..

Don’t care what it costs.. all my boats, helis and planes now have voltage regulators. Gota tell ya. That little Futaba unit is .5oz and works GREAT.. no heat!

If the servo is not rated for 6V that will be the problem.

What servo and what are the specks on the servo?

I have bin using a LiFe 2 cell lately and have not had a issue.

Then again I only use JR servos rated for 6V.

The regulator sounds like a good deal. But I like the extra punch for my X hydro on the steering servo.

David.. thats what I thought..

I was wrong.....

and as for the "extra power" again.. I was wrong... It was/is not noticeable....

Here is the bottom line.. yep.. they will work on 2S life.. but.. the issue is.. how long.. 6.6V on a 4.8 or 6V servo is VERY hard on the motor and other electronic parts within the servo.

Do what you feel is best.. I choose to properly voltage my servos from now on. The cost of the model was not worth it.

Oh I forgot, make SURE you don't accidently buy servos designed for helicopter tail rotor pitch...those are rated for 4.8v...we had one laying around in a bin of random stuff and it was a very fast servo but wrong voltage.
