Looking for master hull roster info, pics, specs or names/U numbers for the Italian round nose hull called a Riva that supposedly ran here in the APBA. Any help and/or info would be appreciated. :)

Don,

I did some research in Prop Riders - 60 Years of Racing Hydroplanes by Phil Kunz and Classic Speedboats - The Summit 1945 - 1962 by Gerald Guetat. I also talked to Phil.

There is no reference to a Riva racing in the United States. Italian Ezio Selva wintered in Flordia and brought his Moschettiere III along for fun. It was a Timossi hull patterned after Paul Sawyer's Alter Ego 266 Class boat. There was quite a bit of hydo interest in Italy. Sawyer went to races in Europe in the early 1950's and allowed measurements to be taken from his boat.

It might be worth an e-mail to Fred Farley, ABRA Historian.
