Thanks Ed. It is my brothers boat I will let him know and It will be neat to get it running again someday. That’s a JD wood over foam build . One of my first builds from way back.
I made my own stainless tanks. The bracket on the transom was for 3rd channel carb adjustments. We need to find a tank for it that fits in there . if anyone has one laying around let me know.
I was thinking that was why just that heavy motor needs that much weight forward to balance it out. That is alot of aluminum hanging back there.Just to get the weight balanced better with all the weight of the motor and lower unit hanging off the back. I'm starting to remember setting the boats on a flat surface with a dowel underneath running left to right . Measuring from the transom forward to get the balance point.
Those cowls look really good on it. Will be neat to see how much different it drives compared to the vs1 i have.30” build I never ran. Sold it before I had a chance too. I beleive I bought some HTB cowls for them.
Way too nice of paint job for what I can doA DUNNY TUNNY for sure.. Dunny did you build that one.. that radio box looks like a Top Speed box and the tank mount somewhat like an old Villain S1 design.
Did ya paint a few blue back in the day?
