Eric,

beautiful pics my friend. The sunrise was pretty cool. I remember that morning.

You should also get an award for the pics of the Kids R Boaters. They are incredible.

Al, I may end up having to take them down off the web. A fellow boater from your district pointed out that without a release I may not have the legal rights to post these. If you hear of anyone that has an issue with my posting of their photos please let me know. Thanks.

Eric,

I enjoyed looking at your pic's - thanks for taking the effort to put them up for all to see. I can understand you wanting to protect yourself from legal action and taking them down. Not worth the hassle.

I seriously hope no model boater is the type that would threaten legal action for posting pic's on the internet for others to see. I can only think that someone has something to hide by doing such a thing.

Tim.

Al,

That might be a heads up tip for the next Nationals CD.. Place something on the entry form that states with the entry you give the district the right to photograph persons and or boats for display on the web...

What a joke to be honest. But if things are getting that ticky tack, might be better to be a step ahead..

Thanks guys for the kind words. I think I will just leave them up and I will remove any that I am asked to. I just can't beleive that any fellow boater would push the issue. So I'll leve them up hoping that people can enjoy.

Hey, I just added some that I found of our Ausie guest that were there. Check out pages 4 and 5. Those guys are sure a fun group. I have more photos than I have web space to post so check back I will try to rotate through a different batch every so often.

Eric:

I appreciate you editing your message to eliminate the reference to me, but it was captured in the post just after yours as a quote.

I don't think anybody would object to the posting of the photos on the web. I have, though, had somebody pitch a fit when somebody tried selling photos of a person and their boat to other people without that person's permission because the photographer was making money on the deal without any compensation to the person. I think it's rather silly, but I have seen it happen.

Sadly there are fewer and fewer photos of model boat races making it the the web. I'll admit that I was on fire taking photos up through last year, but with the diminishing participation in our district and in many cases my own inability to attend races, I have either not had the time at the race to take photos because I'm either driving, pitting, fueling, or fixing.

Any photos that can be made available from the Nats or any other race are appreciated. Joe Monohan has submitted a large set of photos to Al Waters which have been published in the NAMBA District 19 Photo Gallery, and I have a disc of the same photos that will be posted on the Nats website.

Great job with those photos and we appreciate you making them available to the viewers of this forum.

There is now a comprehensive gallery of over 500 photographs from the 2004 NAMBA Nationals accessible by clicking Here.. If you have digital photos you would like to contribute from this event, please let me know and we can work together to get them posted.
