I got bored last weekend and decided to build something that I hope will be useful. I plan on doing as much racing as possible in Europe this year and next, which requires me to ship my stuff ahead of time. I am getting ready for a race in Sweden in about a month and needed something compact that will hold most of the things needed to start, and charge my boats. This is what i came up with. I have a larger 12volt 14 amp battery in the center section, power panel on one side, and charger on the other. I got creative with the mill and lathe and made a cool handle to carry it with and also a holder bracket for the starter. I have test driven the stand with a .21 and a .45 boat with no problems, so I think it will work. Just thought I'd share.

Customers HTB 260 I just finished. Heading to him in Sweden in the morning.

Another shot with the boat on it.

Like I said, I was bored. Milled/Drilled a bunch of 1 inch holes in the bottom peice, to lighten it and allow some air circulation. The bottom wood is 3/4 inch thick Oak, its strong! I also milled out about a 1/4" deep pocket for the battery to sit in on the bottom.

Aluminum starter bracket and Delrin holder "shelf" on the side of the box. Boats still fit while the starter is on the box.

Top of the box. G10 fiberglass lid, with big bolck of foam underneath to hold the battery secure. Custom made handle, and boat support brackets. Main power switch, wired to a 30 amp relay (inside) to take the juice. Shot of the typical power panel.

Side view, boat rails, advertisements, and handle laying flat.

Charger side, Multiplex. Great charger. Does 1-5 cell lipos, 1-14 cell NiMh/NiCd, up to 5 amps (in 0.1 increments) and also has a 1-5 time cycling feature.

Thats it! I think it turned out pretty well. I dont even want to talk about how many hours of work I put into it, hopefully it works as well as I think.

Yeah, Christer (CB Racing) does his own paint work, so he will have to take it apart and do the painting.

James the stand looks great. What i would add is a support for the lowerunit for starting the engine, saves some punishment on the servo.

ditto for me, too. thanx for sharing it with us. i would add lower unit support, also. helps the transom a lot, in addition to the servo. a wet or even oily  flywheel can cause a lot of strain on the transom & mount from the extra pressure needed to spin the motor. i learned this the hard way on my great planes top speeds' weak transoms. my starting stand has the boat supported by the cavitation/ride plate. no matter how hard i push on the starter, there is no strain on the transom. very nice, compact package you put together.
