i think the front tip of the rears ..... might want to blend then in to the tub more. Personally I'd go with a traditional turnfin mount location.

having said that....

looks cool man.... can't wait to see it!

Hi Robert,

The overall design looks great!

I would, however try to get the radio equipment as close to the engine as possible to get the CG up to about the flex coupling. Also, I would offset the left sponson farther out from the tub than the right one to help the boat run straight. I can't really tell but if you're planning to mount the turn fin on the tub, I don't think it will turn as well as if you mount it to the sponson.

Looking great,

Don :)

Thanks for all the input!

I will start building now :D

I think I will offset the left sponson about 10mm but stay with my "non traditional" turnfin-mount, it works good on my .90 / .45 / .21 riggers. If it does not work I can still mount the turnfin to the sponson, that is no large expense I think.

I will keep you informed and post some pictures in the near future.

Yup-Baby SG

Sounds like a plan to me! 8)

I love watching a new boat come together. Keep us advised on dimensions and materials.

Don ;)

I've seen a lot of the foreign racers mounting their turn fins there. It looks like a good place to put it, more strength and less stress on the right sponson. You might be able to get away with smaller booms that way too.

Ron, My first rigger ever was an Octura Wing Ding .67 and the turn fin was mounted to the side of the tub. In those days we ran a straight fin and had to settle the boat before throwing it to the right. With the curved fins we use now it might just work a lot better! :-

I think on the SG's the rear sponson ride pad is on the inside edge of the sponson. You show the ride pad on the out side edge. I don't know if it matters.

Looks like a nice rigger. Looking forward to seeing more as it goes together.(construction photos)

Thanks Mike, I will move the rear sponson ride pad to the inside edge of the sponson, but I do not know if this really matters.

Although the design is SG inspired, my rigger should not become a 1:1 copy of the SG.

Nevertheless, "Baby SG" is a cool name for this project. 8)

Cany anyone tell me if there is a noticeable difference between the OS TR and the OS TR Turbo?
