Hi, Kent! I'm looking for flexible solid wire shaft, not straight! I have enough experience of solid straight shaft. BorisHi Boris, get a hold of Jeff Wohlt...he makes and sells wire drives and has a vast knowledge of them. I'm sure he would give you all of the answers you are looking for...

It will be 1/16, 3/32, 1/8" wire banded with 3-5' radius for stability and low friction. It have to work like cable shaft. I'll made model to test how long can it survive and how big will be friction. BorisHi Boris, do you mean like guitar string type? You have me curious now...

Is this straight or banded? Do you use stuffing tube? how you oil it? Can you post detail picture? BorisBoris, I have run 1/16 music wire shafts in my .12 nitro boats for years. They work very well!
What info do you want to know?

Thanks! It is close to what I will try to do. BorisBoris,
I run wire drives on several of my SAW boats and FE oval racing boats. I typically use 2mm, 2.5mm or 3mm for some of the high power FE monos. There are slight bends (a single bend only) in all the boats and I usually run a thick Teflon stuffing tube. I set the boats up to take either .150 or 3/16" without a stuffing tube and 2 or 2.5mm with a stuffing tube.
I have a small hole near the motor side to drip some lube into.
It is critically important that the wire be straight entering the motor/engine and in the strut. If you have a bend entering the motor or strut the wire will likely break from my experience.
