Well simply put lets let all racers and enthusiasts in NAMBA petition their respective District Directors to start the ball rolling to allow the current 1.01 CID AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE MOTORS to participate in NAMBA sanctioned events in a multi engine configuration . I cannot imagine a model boat racer that would have an objection to this as it is a move to foster NITRO model boat racing , propeller and hull development , and participation . So go to the NAMBA site , go to your district , and contact your Director and voice your opinion . People are going to build these boats with these motors ...might as well make them legal and get more NITRO FLOWING . :)

I bet Tom be the first to have those big blocks in that twin

Actually no Robert I simply can't swing that coin right now to the RC boating realm. Two twins is enough LOL . I do however feel very strongly that the fact that these powerplants are not legal is simply unfounded and in need of an update just as IMPBA has done , the original fostering organization of RC Model Boating . Frankly I think one organization would be better as a whole for the Hobby / Sport but that seems to be another issue . LKetsa band together as Namba members and move toward the future rather than status quo . For years the cry has been if there were more available motors the Sport /Hobby would grow or at least not die ...so lets get this powerplant legal for Twin Racing . Thanks all :)

I tried years ago in NAMBA D-7 and was shot down. I was told that if I wanted to run a twin with 1.01's at a district event that they wouldn't object but our District Director was not interested in taking it up with the BOD. D-7 is 99% gas so no one cared then or now.

I agree with you Bill he is snow balling us and hoping he can run them in Brandon JK see you next week

Simply not true ..this isn't about me and I would hope our district director would see that this makes sense as in More Participation = Logical Sense . Many classes did not even make the minimums for the upcoming D3 race as in C Mono a previously heavily attended class. If i had the coin and wanted to build a Twin 101 i would do it and just have fun running it for the hell of it . Lots of locals not making this race maybe the next one .

Very positive feedback today from District 3 director Marvin Erbesfeld who fully endorses moving forward and is taking the proper steps to help get the DISPLACEMENT LIMIT r ( please absolve me from my spelling error on the title of this thread !! ) raised to 2.5 CID to allow the 101 Engine in a Twin scenario . THIS IS VERY GOOD FOR NITRO ...so please ask your respective Directors to also make this logical positive step to the future of NITRO RACING ! :)

Tom, Bill and I just giving you a hard time we know how you love those twins sounds good that we are moving forward and keeping Nitro alive and well.

tom, you're just worried about gettin' spanked at the fall nats, an IMPBA sanctioned event   . just kidding, i think that impba & namba should have similar rules, to make racing at all events easier for all boaters.

Anytime something can be done to make the rules to the IMPBA and NAMBA similar to both sanctioning bodies, nitro benifits from it, model boating benifits from it and i for one am ABSOLUTLY for it!.....but i still say "Go Fast" will have big blocks in his twin when this is over!  just kiddin maniac! Dont get bent outta shape! :)

Bill,

Tom already has big blocks in his twin now. He will just put them on steroids!

And you are right, model boating will reap the benefits the closer the two racing asociations are more closer aligned. With D3 and D5 being mostly NAMBA now and D13 and D12, the neighboring districts and states being IMPBA, we cross associations more often than other districts in the country do I would suspect. The one time guest fee limit that NAMBA has now needs to be changed too to encourage more cross pollination in the southeast. The northeast would also benefit from it too.

Okay...BIGGER blocks! At one time or another, ive been a member of both organizations and was very happy with either one.....really wouldnt ever want to see them both merge into one big organization as they both have long and productive historys and i think thats kinda cool...i do agree with you on the one time guest fee......whatever it takes to keep the hobby going is most important! :)

It's not going to break my race budget to be full member of both organizations, have been for many, many years. It gives me ALL access to ALL races, even if I'm just visiting. My 2 cents. Hammer B) ..

I sure hope not.I do not care which is faster, gas and nitro are different and need to stay seperate.Jeff Lutz

Having watched the growth of twin gas to were it is currently is a good thing for the hobby. However the two in the water at the same time is apples and oranges. Not because of speed but more of quality competition. The Gas twins have MAJOR steps to make in their development. The motors are fine, it is the hulls that are WAAAY behind. And the fact is twin gas can only improve with the help and input from twin nitro.

But most twin nitros hits the water the first run going 80+. Gas twins first run hit the water at 70+. Them watch the hulls. ;) ;)

The Gas Twin Hydro guys Deserve to win in the perspective class. I dont think you will find a single Gas Twin Hydro Driver that thinks he is competive with NITRO TWIN HYDRO Class!!! Nitro TWIN HYDRO`s that race on the Edge are High Timed,Pulling Big Props With Short Pipes. they are FUN to drive & WATCH if they Get Up when launched...... You must Tweak Everything if you want the Edge in Racing & MAX MPH. Just cause Most Gas Twins Can Splash Around 6 laps Don`t make it a RACE....... IMPBA Has written rules for Both classes & I Respect the Gas guys Hard Work to run up front in THERE Class........ Now pass the popcorn........
