I am mounting twin outboards on a 45inch cat hull, when I mount the outboards should I have even adjustment for raising or lowering the outboard 50/50 or should I have more for one then the other?.

Cheers

It depends on the boat hull

but as a general rule of thumb you should start out with your propshaft about 1/8 of and inch above the bottom of the sponsons

with a neutral trim angle. Be sure to set up the motors and mounts to a neutral setting before positioning on the boat

then once you have your starting position i would mark and drill the motor mount holes in the transon in the middle of the slots

so that you have equal adjustment up and down

A few more details would also help as somebody might be able to give you a better starting point based on your actual setup

Thanks mate, I know where the centre of the prop shaft has to be on the sponsons for this hull, just wondered if I need to keep the fine adjustment of the outboard position up and down 50/50. Just one of those things that comes to mind when you looking at the job at hand.
