On my .12 size Evolution .outrigger i make the motor mounts out of Delrin with 4 small Octura rubber isolators that fasten into each side of the tub to give me rubber isolated mounts to absorb vibration one club member suggested that the motor should be on a solid mount due to .12 small size that a little flexing in the rubber mount robbs a lot of horse power any input would be appreciated.

Rubber mounting them makes them quieter and is kinder on your servo's.

As for power loss compared to a solid mount - no idea here.

i dont think it would rob power really? the octura 3-30 mount would work well size wise though.

Some rubber mounts can flex too much, if the motor flexes too much the flex cable rubbs the flex shaft tube. The rubber grommets that mount in the hull can be tightened up pretty solid.
