Good question, if you heat the case with a torch evenly around the part that captures the bearing,, the bearing will fall out with a slight tap to the same area with a screw driver handle.

Both bearings will come out fairly easy with enough even heat across the case.

If you in any way try to pry or bang the bearing out forget it, get new ones cause they would be shot.

Clean all parts in alcohol and then lube them with after run oil.

To install the bearings, put them in your freezer for about 10 minutes, heat the case again and the bearings will go in with your fingers.

Short of the torch, most folks use their oven to heat up the case and then tap out the bearings. It worked for me when I replaced a bad bearing in my CVRM.

Oven is a much better choice because it heats the case more evenly than a torch. Somewhere between 300 and 350 degrees works for most bearings. Tap the case on a piece of wood to get the bearing out.

thanks for all your help guys . i'll give the oven one a try . :D

PS how long in the oven?

byron, just a though, if you have to buy new bearing ,rod, piston and sleeve, you might want to check the price on a new aqua. 18 ,i think they are just $89. from towerhobbies.com

I only need to replace the crankcase and rod .everthing is like new ,it only has 3 tanks of nitro through it . i was trying to break it in . my local hooby shop looked at it and told me everything is fine . there is no traces of heat scoring.

I finaly got my new crankcase & connecting rod . I'am going to put it back to gether and wanted to wash all the parts down first . What should i use ? are there any other tricks to asemble that i should know about . I plan on heating the crankcase ,freezeing the bearings . they should go together easy , next put the piston /rod down into the case /connect to crankshaft ,then push down the sleeve , is this wright or am i missing a step? any tips would be great since this is my first engine rebuild.

First off make sure to clean everything out with alcohol. Do the bearing thing like you stated. Put a couple drops off oil on the rear bearing and in the crank bore of the case, also oil the sleeve, rod bushings, and rub some on the piston before you begin the rebuild.

Very important!!!! Make sure you orient the piston in the right direction. The hole in the side of the piston must face the carb side of the case.

With crank installed turn the case so the threaded part of the crank is pointing at the ceiling, gently install the rod and piston into the case, slowly and gently roll the crank to tdc and install the rod on the crank pin.

Crank pin must be up top to install the rod or it wont go on.

Now very very gently install the sleeve, i use my pinky through the top of the sleeve to line up the piston in the bore. Be very gentle, a tiny back and forth twist of the sleeve will usually help find its home.

When you get the piston in the bore, just line up the notch in the sleeve with the pin in the case and push it all the way in.
