Mono Questions....

Hey guys, Ive decide to see if I like monos this year(never tried them until now). I have a microburst 60 mono, surface drive, 3/16 shaft, with a OPS redhead and OPS pipe in it. Any Ideas on props that i could start with? prefer Octura or ABC..

James, I'm running the same hull but with a Mac .67 and the 67 brown parabolic pipe. I'm using an Octura X457/3 that I plan on doing a little back cutting on to keep the rpm up in the corners. BTW, if you're running a 3/16 diameter flex cable, I would consider going up to a 1/4 diameter flex cable with a 3/16 stub shaft on the end of it. Lot less breakage.

A X450 might work for you

a X560 is a good prop, Might need to cut on it some to get it to wind out.

My modified CMB EV.67 in the Twin Crafts turns a 457 three balde really good.

I ran a 460 prop with a cmb evo in a 60 microburst. It worked well.

X455/3 ~~ x457/3 ~~ X460/3 are ALL great props. The closer the drive dog is to the boats transom the bigger prop typically is, BUT better performance is gained by having prop further back. <_<

I raced a Cal craft .67 mono in the late 90's and it was set up pretty far back and LOVED the X455/3 with some pitch up and rolled tips.

Thanks Guys, thats what i was looking for! I am gonna try out the OPS thats in it, its supposed to be a screamer, time will tell, If it doesnt work out, I have a MAC .67 that needs a home....LOL
