So I made front plates in the area of the hull you cannot reach from the inside with your hands, then trimmed them down, and test fitted with the top deck installed. This should work really well. Turn fin metal added too. This hull will be done this week!

These will allow me to add thickened resin up front before dropping the deck on and glassing the rest from the inside. It will also add more strength up front too.

Oh, I laid up the bottom to the 2nd hull Friday night as well. Here are some pics of it. This hull will be full carbon, and it turned out very nice, and light.

I gave this whole bonding thing a try last night, and because the molds were designed where you put the boat back in the mold, and do the bonding, it turned out really nice. I just have to sand the edges clean, and buff and polish the hull, and its ready to go out west! here are some pics. I am really happy with the results, and hate I procrastinated so long on bonding this thing..It was not that bad! Mike

Got back in town after 5 days of being away, and got the first hull finished, with the rails installed, and will ship it out tomorrow. Got the second hull trimming started, and hope to finish it up by the end of the week. Then I have to start the next hull layup, along with all the other orders! haha. Here are some pics. Mike

Back at it on the 2nd hull, and half way done with the 3rd. Should be joining the second hull together in a couple days. Turn fin backer added, and the front doubler plates laid up. More soon, Mike

Hull number 2 is now bonded. I will clean up the edges, trim the cowlings, and its ready to head out. This one came in at 9lbs, 4 oz...Just slightly less than the first. I honestly, cannot make them any lighter and still be strong enough! I think for the size, this is a great weight. There is not an ounce of pooled up resin in this thing anywhere, so I am pretty happy with the results. Here are some pics! Mike

Would this boat be more considered a 1/5 scale most boats out there in this class seem more like 1/6 scale or could it even be a 1/4 scale? Just asking due to its size

Shane, its the same overall size as the 108 gas scale kit. So it is basically a gas scale hull size. I do hand layups. Not much extra resin laying around tho as I try to minimize pooling.

Naw, The gas scales and Thunderboats are similiar sized.

Just in case anyone is interested, I am putting these molds up for sale for this thunderboat. I will be driving down I-95 to I-10 over the holidays, so if anyone near that area is interested, they can be delivered. Just let me know. Thanks, Mike

These molds are still available. PM me with offers. I just don't need them, and want them out of the way. I habe so many other projects I want to pursue. Thanks, Mike
