Miss Hydro is right put that starter belt on plus it is legal in both impba and namba you are not changing anything as far as modding the RTR

I never said it was not legal, but we still have to have the pull start on...............

If I'm reading the RTR rules right, the pull starter MUST be installed and operational for the boat to be legal to run in the RTR class, HOWEVER, it doesn't say that you have to use it. Byron, my recommendation would be to install the pull starter AND a starting belt. If you plan on moving up to larger boats, you will need a starter anyway. This way, you will have two ways of starting your boat and still be RTR race legal.

BTW, you live in BC dont' you? Are you coming down for the NAMBA NAT's? This would be a great place to learn about running and racing the R/C boats. Depending on work, I plan on being there most if not all of next week so maybe we could meet up and get you lots of hands on help

I left the pull start on my wifes boat but boy it is so nice to have a belt starter es you do need to leave the starter on the boat weather iompba or namba must be there. Robert

OK, try coiling up the spring inside the case, that's worked for me in the past. I don't know if you've tried it that way or not.

Clean the one-way bearing. I used to just give it a shot of fuel to clean it up.

Yes, the pull-starter must be intact and operational but you don't have to use it. I prefer using my hand-held electric starter because one, I have one anyway and two, I'm lazy. My kid likes using the pull-starter though.

I'm going to try to make it to the nats. what would be the best day to come down. Is it possiable to race in the novice div again ,on drop in ?

you would have to ask mike hughes, but im not sure cause they have been setting it up for a long time now, maybe even Jerry can help ya

You might even get away with the 15" belt since the boat is smaller. The big things are room inside the boat and having a belt long enough to be used easily with the electric starter

I think Russ Williamson said he was running a 17" in his vegas...but it's each to there own in what size they run...

belts r better, but if u have kids its much better too. i have belts on all the boats the kids dont touch. lol with the vegas i would go with the 17 belt, its not to big nor to small.
