Miss Vegas FE conversion

This came in a fleet of boats I purchased last year. It was converted to FE, but it needed to be redone.

All the factory blocks had to be removed as they were still in place. After all was cleaned up, one layer of 5.5oz carbon fiber used to stiffen up the floor. Most of the factory hardware is in use. After purchases from OSE, spec's are:

0.078 Wire Drive
SSS 3674 2075kv motor
Seaking 120 esc
2 - Revlectix 2s 5000mah 70c

Going to see what props I have that might work. Hopefully some pond time on Sunday. Since I'm not used to running these boats, what is the CG for this setup? It's currently around 13" forward from the transom.

2 - 2s wired in series = 4s. Believe most of the conversion projects that I read on OSE forum were running 2 2s in series. With the height the battery (home made) trays came to, these batts just fit under the front. Going to be in the 60's tomorrow, so few are heading out. Hope to get some vid if it's running well.

Ms Vegas on the pond

Prop used is a x442 Lynx cut, 41.17mm

Batteries were slightly warm, ESC and motor, not....

Was quite happy with the performance of the boat.

I was shocked to see the boat handle as well as it did. Was able to zero out the strut bottom to spoon bottom and then zeroed out the wing.

No cable... This was converted to 0.078 wire drive from OSE. Think it's worth the work put in for making this switch. Here's the stuffing tube prior to the box epoxy completion. Tube comes out the back, not bottom.



Need to try other props and see what it can really do next time out.

The stuffing tube coming out of the hull:



The last run plenty of water was inside. Changes had to be made to the rear deck.



Foam to help support across the rear exhaust area. 0.20 carbon fiber sheet used to make the seal. Holes drilled in to allow epoxy to get on the other side to help hold it in place.





Didn't like the stock turn fin. Going thru that purchased collection, came up with this aluminum piece.



Now waiting on pond time.

Waterproofing was a challange. I determined a sub hatch wouldn't allow sufficient room for the batteries, and the rear cowl wasn't remotely possible to tape up, so I cut some of the rear cowl off & fashioned a rear deck from birch plywood. Plugged the open turbine intake, exhaust, and turbine exit with CF sheet. Cut the nose off & epoxied it to the front of the hull as well. Lotsa' work, but whatever !

Batts are from OSE, Revo 5000mah 2S. Currently have 2 sets of 2S for the boat.
