We won't know if John gave that last race away but in real life it goes on all the time. If you think it don't, you were born under a rock. What are team mates for?

John Force has done more for drag racing than any person you can name.

Makes ya wonder if the FC final wasn't thrown either then huh? Having his daughter be the first woman to win the FC class at Indy over his son-in-law.

Anyway, if John wanted to lose the race intentionally, there are hundreds of things that could have been done in the pits to make him "down on power".

What's next? Is the NHRA going to have to go the route of NASCAR by limiting the number of cars in one class that someone can campaign?

Everyone saw that one coming, since the tune up data was going to be reviewed "Brute" Force did it the only way it could be done, HUMAN ERROR... cut a .209 light and turn right out of the groove. NHRA was founded on COMPETITION and Wally Parks rolled over in his grave yesterday after that debacle.

Get rid of the "Countdown" format and go back to heads up competition, and NASCAR should follow suit.

If I want SCRIPTED SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT, USA network shows it every Mon. night.

Force was a traitor to the very thing that feeds his family, he should give up his spot in the countdown and they put Cruz in #10 countdown spot.

Shirley won in Top Fuel, not Funny Car against her old boss, etc. Connie Kalitta. I wasn't quite aware of that myself until it was mentioned in one of the later videos shown in the ESPN link above.

They showed a lot of the classic pairings from Indy during the rain delay. Great to See Antron interviewing Big Daddy. I met Don Garlits once, a really nice guy to talk to. I remember Big's first 6 second run that happened at Indy. He grew a beard that he wasn't going to shave off until he hit the sixes, returned to the starting line and shaved it off on the spot.

Don't know if this little incident with John Force will go down in Indy history, only time will tell.

Too bad Antron went out in the first round.

Ashley has a looong way to go. Watch the movie "Heart Like A Wheel" and see what CHA CHA went thru, especially with Kalitta. pic circa 1982 Gainesville

It go on model boats to. It happen at Nats. in 1987, so a manufacture could get

US1.

TASCA LAYED OVER FOR HIGHT TOO
that is retarded..cmon he is not even in the camp hight is from.. bob is a fair racer and i seen him personally whip wilkerson a few times this year, they are partners in crime..force has money but not enough to keep someone from a dream of winning indy..cmon man. now we all know force layed over in the semis against hight ..he is a ass for doing so, i like them both and i like how they "usually" race for real but it downright is nhra's fault for letting them get away with owning 25 percent of the field ..that is crap but roush does the same thing there are just more varibles in nascar..alot more idiots to level the field.

Well they finally made a ruling.

Funny Car racer John Force has been fined $10,000 by NHRA for an incident involving physical contact with an NHRA official Monday, Sept. 7, during the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

Whoopee, chump change for him!

Evidently they didn't find anything wrong with the questionable pass then or they don't want to put a black mark on the event.

Nope just him pushing a NHRA official but if you watch the tape it also shows Tony pushing on an official but I guess that is okay with NHRA since Tony isn't a big player.

I must say the ESPN nailed a good show, for once, The finals had it covered from every angle and they were there to show the John and Tony show LIVE. Good job to ESPN. If the NHRA did not do this playoff thing that deal with John would not have happened. It was obvious what he did, Force is LOYAL to his Corporate $pon$ors and it is obivous he will do whatever it takes to stay on top and keep those cars on TV. He made a decision and used the rules to put Robert in the countdown. Is taking a dive bad ....yes. the NHRA says you cannot do that, BUT try to prove the old man did not have a brain fart. Tony should have kept his mouth shut, when he was over in the Force camp he had NO problem taking the bad lane or trying a new tune up during a matchup against with the boss, (to let Force go on and win). Now that he is not toting Force's lunchpail around he has to state what everybody knows. The NHRA stopped Coil from developing new things. The reason John Force dominated everything for an entire decade was because Coil, Fedderly and Medlin kept coming up with new stuff, so the NHRA made some rules to "level the playing field" so thier hands are tied. The next best thing to do is run four cars and "teamrace" to the front of the pack and stay on top, and he will do whatever it takes.

If the NHRA would get a rid of that countdown. Tim Wilkerson, (a total underdog), would have been AA/Funnycar champ last year and you would not see John Force doing what he did to keep a promise.

Not to mention 2 accidents that could have cost her the whole deal...and she came back from both of em to win again! One TOUGH gal!!
I can testify to that first hand:) You have to love a gal who greets you by saying "What the He$$ do you want" Then proceeds to hit you on the arm and smile at the same time.

I've got an idea that the Carolinas race in another week is going to get a lot of viewers as the doo-doo hasn't quite gone all the way through the fan yet. That and the 4-lane strip is going to be a show. I'm a big fan of John Force and he is the showman but what went on is still going to leave a big question mark.

I'm going back and watch the idiot box now, Martin Truex is doing well in practice.

You state in your message that Roush controls in NASCAR like Force in NHRA. Hendrick's has way more control than Roush could dream of. If it were not for Hendrick motors, the Chevy field would be very small. Tony, Ryan and all most any other Chevy team that is half was in the run will have a Hendrick's motor.
