Roger Hooks Jr.; No disrespect but i dont understand why you compare whats done today with what you thought was done 10+ years ago. J.ODonnell
because the record had never been broken in that class. Like I said... No one broke Brian Neals record either for five years. There may be others but I do not recall them now.

I apologize for taking this posts on a tangent... So is not to continue to take this post off track. If you would like to discuss this further you can send me a personal message. I will be happy to discuss your questions and concerns there.

Just do not want to get away from the intent of this post. My intention was to merely encourage those who continue to keep the faith and wait for the new CMD products.

Roger,

How did you come to believe that the boaters in So. Ca. don't believe Allen's time of 1:04 to set the C hydro record. Sub 10 sec. laps are common in the B,C & X Hydro classes at any 2-lap time trial, I have seen 7 sec. laps recorded. So no one is questioning Allen's time...

And I here and now would like to say to all the boaters in that "fast clicke" hang on to that "substitute" power, it may be a long, cold "fall & winter" based on pervious predictions ;)

This is a bit overdue "CONGRATS ALLEN GREAT JOB" :) :)

Don

PS Roger, build that "C" hydro & lets see if you can run sub 10sec. laps ;)

Hmmm.... there seems to be an air of disbelief in this post which makes me want to ask this question. If you fast guys down south are "recording" times in all the rigger classes that are sub 10 seconds per lap in your 2 lap trials why is it so impossible to beleive that a guy can run almost 2 seconds slower (PER LAP!!!) for 6 laps?
I'd suspect that if there was an air of disbelief it would be due to the come from behind just to get the lead, which takes time as well, in addition to perhaps knowing what kind of laps it takes to run two seconds faster per lap over two laps, how many two lap runs are scrubbed and the clock reset, and sometimes the cooling period between two lap runs. To come from behind and run that time over six laps with other boats on the water is a great accomplishment.

I guess West Coast Boater believes Alfred's heat racing record for A Hydro was a five lap record and not a six lap record. I think the same thing happened in Scale which, as you say, is the reason why heat racing records are removed after three years.

Good job Alan. I hope you guys can make it to the Time Trials. I wish I were out there on the left coast and able to attend. It's looks like it's going to be a heck of a week!

For what it's worth, not that I am getting any hint of disbelief, but I was the CD on the heat that Alan set the record. In fact I CD'd B Hydro almost all day and it is a legit 6 lap record. In fact he did a 1:09 in the first round so he already had the record in the first round. Second round he hit the point bouy trying to beat that one. Don't remember what happened third round. Last round was the 1:04 and it was **** impressive to watch. Boat was fast and you could see by the third lap that it was gonna be a good time. Congrats Alan!

That is the impression I got from the West Coast Boaters post.

Once again we have a thread gone off course.

I could have sworn that the topic was Mac Motors. I guess I need to put my reading glasses on and re-read the topic again.

Oh Yah!...

Getting back to the topic of "Mac Motors" at hand. Alan Terry was running a "Mac Motor" when he set that record.

But really...

It was heard from the horses mouth on this one. Andy already told us what to expect so based on that and the original question what else is there to say?

Just to add my own off-topic $.02. I was Alan's caller, we knew we were going for the record. The previous 1:09 in the first round had a late start and a few wide laps, Alan was hoping to get to 1:08. There were many people watching so a five lap time just wasn't going to happen and didn't happen, I was calling off the lap numbers as we completed. I may be old but I can still count to six correctly. Alan drove really well. He started outside a couple boats but after the first turn was ahead and pulling away quickly. Dave Hilton's 45 Eagle was almost the same speed as Alan's only a half a lap back. (maybe it's the brackish water at Seaside or the green scum that floats on top) To my very uncalibrated eye, his boat seemed about the speed of Steve O'Donnell's roadrunner that set the 6 lap record at Manteca years ago (running a not so tight course, Brain Neal was calling). It did NOT seem to be as fast as Steve's Eagle that I saw in 2 lap trim and set the NAMBA 2 lap record a few years later. The weather was cool about 66 degrees , light wind and a thin overcast, I saw a density gauge that said 104% early in the day, did not happen to glance at it again. Rudy

Ok to steer yet another topic back on course, I got an e-mail from Renee @ CMDi yesterday which also gave the late fall-early winter time table on the new motors. Hmmm, might be in time for the Christmas wish list............... :D
