Thinking of getting back into fun running and have lots of questions about which way to go. I'm going to get the Associated RC8 Truggy or buggy and need some setup/rigging questions. So I'm looking for a Forum geared towards offroad cars/trucks!!!

Thanks, Kevin

call your buddy...................................................................................ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   just cause im a boat guy doesnt mean i dont play with land vehicles too.................. :p  send me that engine when you get it

I like the truggy but not sure what would be better... It will be used mainly for backyard fun but some racing at the brothers house and maybe a few other tracks...

What are the pros and cons of a buggy and truggy?

Which is better??

What battery/motor/esc???

What jumps better????

Better traction/handling characteristics?????

id go with the truggy,,,, (i hate that word) who the hell came up with that  ..... its a stadium truck... :p ....... anyway thats what i would choose personaly,,, the buggys are nice but the (stadium truck) has that same low center of gravity...(more important for racing than fun run IMHO) ive had good luck with the veleneon (spelling) that comes in the traxxas vehicles.... that setup is plenty capable of 50 plus and higher.... run 3s and you will be happy.......make sure you spend big on a high mah batt. or simply by a bunch of them so charging isnt a constant... oh boy,,,,,,,,,break out that wallet my friend.... you thought boats were spendy.........

i had a traxxas slash that went perdy dam good... seemed durable too,,,, but it didnt stay with me long....my buddy ran short course with it and did really well actually.....

Hmm Helis!!!!! I was thinking of getting a non walmart version since I bought this house with a huge vualted cielling!!!!! You are right the boats keep me addicted but as last work season took me out of town I just had no time for boats... Last time I ran was June..... :( A TRUGGY or buggy I could run easily all year!!!! Could even bring it to work and build a sweeeeet jump for it with the equipment I use on the job!!!!!

check on rcuniverse, they have good off & on road forums, kevin. i've had good luck with both our traxxas vehicles. the wife has a revo 3.3 & i've got a jato 3.3. fast, fun & reliable B) .
