Could someone shed some light on a JG 308/3 prop?

I have one but don't know a thing about them!!

LOST IN PROPS

DANG !!THEY ARE THAT OLD !!! It looks awsome !!! I might as well get me something newer than dirt !! I want to try a lifting 1440, what cut would you recommend ?

I kow to get a x440/3 & P220 & abc 40x53. I have the charts from mwd & associates that show were to & not to shape & cut on the props.

I know I should buy the first ones preworked !! Polishing and thinning I can handle I think ?

DAMN !!WHAT'S THOSE MOTHBALLS DOING IN THIS OS BOX ?

Waterbug,

What sort of boat and motor are you talking about? Just run stock props (shapened and balanced of course) for a while. You can just as easily go backwards modifying props. For example I have modded a few props over the years and some have worked very well, but I recently did a H-50 and it ended up about 7mph slower than the stock one!

Nitrocrazed racing: If I had all the money that I spent on props over the years..... I'd have more money.

NITRO,

It's on a Dunlap 27 OS stock. 2 is a Dunlap 3.5 with a mod. watercooled K&B 3.5.

Ah,

I really cant help you there, I haven't raced outboard tunnels for years! When I did I was using a X437/3, X440 and 215 I think.

There are plenty of outboard guys who should be able to help you better!

Nitrocrazed racing: Run outboards? Loctite is your friend....

Hey Waterbug:

I ran an OS and last year and an x440 was my choice and it ran real well. I have switched boats to a Villan and now the 1440 back cut I think will be the prop.

You can get these from Grim at www.grimracer.com. ;)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a selection.

Don't know how much light this will provide, but the JG props were originally done by Jim Gale, of Los Angles, CA, back in the mid-60s to early 70s. Jim was a very active model boater in the LA area. Dumas Products later picked up the JG prop line. That old aluminum prop that came with K&B 3.5 OBs years ago was a JG casting.

O'L JERRY,

Is there any way to find out the specs on the 308 prop !!! Better take it off and put it in a glass case for a collectors item !!! its in great shape !!

TOPFUEL,

I wonder were Allen cameup with the prop??

The boy I got it from Jordan, said he setup and broke it in for him !! A1 condition !!

waterbug, as you know, they do have some pretty old stuff in that hobby shop, thats not nescesarily a bad thing when you mess with the old K&B's.

Alan has been with Randy for 11 years, he said he STILL finds stuff he didnt know they carried !!

James ,

I'm going to replace it ,because I know I will screw it up. That would be the first thing I would lose or destroy !!!

Yea, thats why if it's not posted on his site or don't see it when you are there ALWAYS ASK !!!
