It is reverse mounted on the transom, but I dont find it such an issue . You should protect your you esc and batts, irregaurdless, if you can. the so-called advantage I really dont see it. Either the boats runs good or it dont. Wat im concerns me more with this hull is how far in can I sand the seams. I dont want to weaken the hull.

Mounting the strut on the transom back make it easier to adjust and remove the strut if you need to. Like you say either way the boat has to be set up to run properly, you probaly will have to set the strut a bit deeper to get the rear out of the water with the transom mounted strut.

You can sand the seam edge but dont remove the lip as that is what hold the boat top and bottom together. You could fill in on the bottom of the lip some if you want it smoother.

No its fine I just didnt know how far I could go. I wouldnt have sanded it at all, but I didnt want to be lazy or sloppy. Ill just clean the edge up a little bit then.

also this speed master strut is the one you called for but it is longer than the plans by like an inch. Cut it I assume? The length you have it in the plans is proven good for a combination of control without too much in water drag, or have you went even shorter on it?

Not sure what strut you are talking about? Sport strut is for under the boat, 21 hydro strut is for on the back of the boat. If you have the extended shaft strut you can cut it off.

Jim, Sponsons and under deck. CG is fine.I will likely use 2 or 4 3 s packs to keep the cg low and wide as possible. The radio box straps in and out. Extra insurance on keeping the water out of the esc and RX.

The rudder not the strut. I have the strut as called for . I was talking about the 4 inch rudder blade.

Jim , this is what im hoping for. 2 3s packs in series. I figure i need at least 250 supply amps so 2 50c 5000mah packs is series should do it. I could do 4 if I needed 500 amps

With the price I cannot refuse to try a pair. Packs like this will shave close to 2 pounds off every boat I have by allowing me to run in a 1 p setup. In parallel these cells would supply 500 amperes. I dont expect any of my boats to average over 250 amperes  .

With a 1 p setup delivering 250 amps cont the super sport should be in for a good ride!

Initial prop will be an ABC H-18

You won't even finish a one-mile heat averaging 250 amps draw, but fortunately you will not need to draw that much. Most of our club's Q Sport Hydros average around 150-170 amps and use between 4500 and 5000 mAH in a one-mile heat while running in the high 60s/low 70s. The only guy who tried 5000 mAh packs in 1P configuration came back to the beach with the packs too low - only 5% remaining. Most run 5000 mAh in 2P configuration, but I have been able to run 6500 mAh 1P safely. I would not expect 5000 mAh packs to last very long.

.

Again,I dont expect any of my boats to average over 250 amperes! I would like to avoid 2 p setups in this hull if possible.. Ive run 2 25c 5500mah 6 s packs in my mono with plenty to spare at the end of a run. Id like to keep my amperage at around 160 amperes.

Noted . So 4 of these packs will make it 10000 mah 50 c. Glad for the advice before I ordered anything

Ok I am running the 2 6s 3600 mah 50 c packs in parallel. They will still fit under the deck. I already have 4 3300mah 35c packs I can series/parallel those and be ok too.
