This past weekend I ran my K45 in an older Eagle. I had run 2 quarts of fuel through the engine, breaking it in on the bench. But, this past weekend was the first time I ran the engine in the Eagle. Using a Rod Geraghty carb, the engine was easy to break in, it started easily and ran very smooth with hardly ant vibration. I had four test runs at a slightly rich setting and I am very happy with this engine. However, the wind came up and the water was too rough for racing. The event was finally cancelled due to the weather.
The race was in Calgary, Alberta at more than 3000 feet altitude. The next testing will be at a lower altitude and I will try a bigger bore carb and different props.
