jeez, norm ain't that the truth. i prolly have 2 (or more  ) 5 gal. buckets of just .21 parts. .21 parts are smaller, means a lot more total parts.........but, accounting for the state of affairs with k&b/mecoa, i can run 'em for that many more years :D .

Thats what im thinkin Robin...i dont have as much KABOOM stuff as you, but for sure ive got enough 3.5 and 7.5 engines layin around (im gettin a 7.5 disk rotor from "GO FAST"!!)doin nothin but gettin older, why not run em in something till they go KABOOM!!...when i run out of parts then ill just stick a "modern motor in whatever i was runnin the KABOOMS in! :) That would be a good name for the boat....KABOOM!

The old K&B company was filled with great people. Both Jack Garcia and Bobby Tom became very good friends.

When you toasted an engine you didn't feel so bad. You would talk to Jack or Bobby about the problem. Then they would commiserate and help.

Maybe why they went out of business....

more like that's why they were so popular. if a manufacturer treats me right, they have my business. it's called customer service, & is what KEEPS you in business, imo. there was a sign in a tractor dealership in tallahassee, fl. that read "sales will sell the first bobcat, parts & service will sell the second & third." truer words will never be spoken.
