Gino; I read your first and last post, So hopefully I will stay on target. On the motor: x440 2 blade is the prop to start with, the depth and angle on the motor looks like a great starting place. Run at least 1/2 gallon of fuel through it before you really start to lean it.Now heres a secret! Lean the motor and make the hardest right turn on good water you can. If the motor sags or dies you are to lean, If it runs steady then lean it until it sags. When it does open the needle 1/8 turn and you have a race ready tune up! I also agree that the boat looks stuck down. Once the motor is performing adjust the angle until the boat blows over then start adding lead to the front until it settles down.( my boat took 8 ounces) There are some great pictures on www.namba8.com in the media section of several tunnels running at speed including myself and the world renowned Jerry Dunlap. Hope things work out for you. Greg Roth :)

re: "world reknowed"

Oh boy!!! Greg, you just trying to get into "Uncle Jerry's" head 4 1/2 months before the first District 8 points race?

Good advice for anyone with a K&B 3.5ss.

Gino: How did you go with the revised setup and the higher nitro levels? I'm thinking of going up to the same next batch of fuel.

I just took my boat out today and had a ball of fun. I'm running 25% nitro and 23% oil. I fitted a MC9 plug and I still had the same random stalling problems but today I fitted a MC8 and my friend fitted a MC59. The boat's didn't stop all day except when they were out of fuel or it was upside down (it was very windy). With the gold carb @ sea level NV ~3 & 1/4 turns out. (Still very rich but going strong). Running a p215 prop. I know that my boat is a Dumas hotshot sprint and I'm running a W/C k&B but I hope that this info may help.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,

Just got back from Canberra today after a days running with Gary Tyrell (GTR).

Gotta say that the SS loves the 50% nitro ! Also running the K&B HP plug.

After some great assistance from Gary - thanks a heap Gary :) , the Villain was screaming - very happy.

Also switched from the 215 prop to a 440/2 blade and the difference was quite noticeable - gotta get my hands on a 440.

We'll have to go for a run one day soon - let me know.

PS also got my Hotshot 7.5 wet for the first time today - motor was being run in so very rich but running. Too bad I somehow managed to loose the flywheel to the pond monster on the second tank :( .

So all in all apart from that and some minor throttle servo probs, was quite a good day. Gary was also happy with his Villain today <_<
