Hi, I have a K&B 16.4cc outboard and was wondering if any has run one of these motors. I have a 7.5/11cc tunnel hull that I planned on using. This should work ok, right?

John

It should work I have a 11cc on my aerotech tunnel runs very good. I don't see it being a problem as long as you set it up right.

My first build was 50 inch tunnel with a K&B cube. Hull was far from suited, I'm sure the Aerotech is a much better option.

The main problem I found was finding a prop that would utelise the torque of a cube that wouldn't be too harsh on the flex shafts.

Still managed to see low 50 mph with the massive tunnel I had, no pipe.

I still have a couple of the cube outboards, will one day get around to doing a similar project.

This will be an interesting project, keep me posted.

My 47 inch tunnel with 16,4 cc k&b engine

I think it is build by Jerry Dunlap.

I used a ABC H7 and a 1450 Mod Prop and it worked pretty good. Aerotech are good ruff water boats not good for top speed a 40 inch woodstuff would be better add a tuned pipe and you can modify a lawless lower unit and it should work perfect and be very fast. Depends on what you wanna do lol.

yes a one cube or even a .67 will work on it also
The tunnel pictured looks like a Tri Star. If the hull is epoxy and the right sponson is deeper than the left, it is most likely a Tri Star. The Tri Star was a very good boat and ran in the high fiftys twenty years ago.

The hull is all fiberglass, what would be a good prop to use with this engine? K&B recommends a P-260, however Shoboat doesn't think he will be able to get one, and ideas???

John

P260's don't fit on standard K&B lowers (diameter to big for cavitation plate, not sure why K&B recommend the 260 on their website?).

A P255 will fit fine.
