Steve Muck's long time racing partner and friend, John Borden is now offering his boat building skills to others through his business, Lone Star Racing Boats. John now has access to all of the molds from Steve. This has not been widely publicized until now. This is a hobby for John and his building will be kept at that level. He is, however, interested in supplying his skills on a limited basis. These offerings are being presented online with the assistance of yet another friend, Bill Brandt of Rattlesnake RC, Http://www.allrc1.com. Lone Star Racing Boats is live and may be found here...http://www.allrc1.com/#!lone-star-racing-boats/c1mj3.

Work on the site is ongoing but we want to get the word out.

Welcome Lone Star Racing Boats!

Great hulls! I've been very happy with mine.

I have 4 of the Leland Pico hulls painted as various boats and they are fast!

John does a good layup, strong but not too heavy.

possible to get new layup of Northwind 40 hull?
Looks Like Steve has found the bottom. I will have to go over and get it down as. It is still were I put is when I was 16. lol

That's great news John! The bottom is the most critical piece. Hopefully it is still in good enough condition to produce clean, straight, mold's. I would prefer to have an epoxy-glass layup (not polyester-glass resin).

I believe I can layout and fabricate my own wood deck and inner piece's. I have the original full size plans for the Northwind 20 kit to use as a guide. I forget the exact dimensions of the Northwind 40?
