Late spring of last year I build a 1/10 scale ML Boatworks 8255 wood kit, painted it white, and raced it 5 times in ERCU summer events. The BOAT runs fine, but I thought maybe I could build a "Better Mousetrap" from foam. Well, long story short, after 2 1/2 months of building, testing, and modifying ,I ended up just building "Another Mousetrap." A "Mousetrap" that runs fine, but not any better of faster than the ML Boatworks BOAT. However, I enjoy building boats from foam and spending time in my model boat shop.
The sheeting over the foam was mostly 1/32" aircraft plywood. 1/16" was used for the templates that the foam was glued to. I made the exhaust headers from 5/16 OD brass tubing that I pinched slightly to make the end of the stacks a little bit oval in shape rather than round.
