Hey guys..

I now have an assembled JAE45 short kit. Just the kit part.. still needs to be set up with everything. Sponsons and tub are built.

A few questions.

-The sponsons I believe are set up for the 5/16 solid CF tubes and the brass inserts. I'm not real thrilled about the brass inserts. I would prefer some larger diameter fiberglass to spread the load.. Anyone have issues with the brass?

Im pretty set on the rest..

Thanks

I guess a few more questions.

Did you make your rear boom adjustable? And if so do you think it was a critical move?

I want to try and make this go as easily and quickly as possible.. I don't to build the tub to be adjustable if it's not needed.

The brass tubes have worked for me, but I make sure to properly epoxy them in with wood blocks. I also used .029" wall brass tubing to handle some good hits. My JAE 21 with 3 seasons of racing has the .014 brass tubes and they have slowly mouthed open from all the crashes and buoy hits.

My Zippkit JAE handles great, not sure there would be a need to adjust sponson angles.

I used brass tube with thicker wall (1mm) and havent had any issue even with no adjustable rear booms.Booms are made with 3/8"cf from aerospace composite.Gill
