Hi all

Trying to set up the throttle servo on the lil jae 12

I have realised (or i cant work out) how to set it up so it is not in the way of the starter belt.

Can someone pls post a pic or tell me how to set it up.. Ive tried everything !

Thanks!!

I dont' have any pics I can show you all my .12s are taken apart.

If your using wire you do some fancy bending. Or just run directly to the carb and use the starter belt off to the side instead of pulling directly up if that makes any since to ya.

Hope some one gives you a real good Idea. The lil guys are a pain

Thanks mike

what you are saying makes total sense however i wanted to try and avoid the side start if possible.

ill have a try at bending a couple of rods... any tips to stop it moving/flexing when i hook it up?

thanks

Cool..... looking forward to seeing some pictures. I was gonna say I dont have a JAE boat but i have had a few .12 riggers. All .12 riggers are very tight, i find it hard to believe some of these guys run 3rd channels in them.... i keep thinking where do they put the **** man its tight. But I have seen many boats with the third channel. I use to use an OS carb with the needle valve sorta sticking back and out just to the side of the driveline looking down on it. The belt and the linkage and needle valve are something ya gotta work with.... you will find the way that works best for you. ya gotta do what ya gotta do, very few are exactly the same

I'll post pics of my setup later today or night.. maybe that will help you.

Chris, If Nessa doesn't deliver the pics. let me know & I can send you a couple pics of mine. Best thing to do is praticing on bending techniques. It works the best on keeping the wire away from the belt. Also, don't be afraid to use Ball-links on the Throttle side.. I use this system on all my JAE's and never had any trouble with them. The Ball-link allows the wire to come-in at an in-direct angle and has forgiveness.. Keeps the wire away from the belt - so that I can pull straight-up with it. B)

Boys, you have all come with info again

i ended up "living with it" and did the same as henki's pic.

im going to try n add some pics tonight.. for some reason the site wont let me... i might try n re-size the images and go from there,

Cheers

here is one i built last winter but sold it .It is setup with third channel .I used a ball and link setup for the throttle and the arm was close to the side and i had to cut the deck a bit but you did not see it because it is under the pipe.I had to bend the arm a little on the carb too but got it figured out after a while.

i ran mine straight in.... as close to the drive line as possible.... goes through the center of the belt..
