It's been suggested to us to use IV Bags for fuel in a Conquest Cat we're building. We're Scale and Rigger racers so this is new to us. Opinions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill and Dave Brandt

The gas bags work well, no vent is needed just the fuel pickup, Run a line to the carb with a T in the middle to fill.

Use a crank pump for gas, fill the bag till you see a air bubble then crank out the air till it has all fuel then you can fill the bag completly and have no air in it.

I get some from garson conner

Also got my I.V. bags from Garson Conner w/all the fittings and T's and tygon tubing- no metal fittings to chafe a hole in the I.V. bag. 250 or 500 ML. Good price/Good service

Great stuff. Thanks so much Glenn.

Building a Chaos hydro with mod zenoah and also Conquest Cat with mod zenoah.

Do you suggest 500 ml over 250?

Has anyone put these in Scale Hydro?

Is the IV bags holding up well with nitro glo fuel?

I have not seen anyone using them with nitro yet.. <_< "Interesting."

They dont work on a pressure line, there is no open vent on a gas bag. gas motors dont need pressure to push fuel to the carb.

I would get the 500ml there are 1000 too for all day runs 500 is more than enough for a heat race.

500 bags are all that you need. I'll second Garson's bags also as he's using Baxter's. There are some others that have had issues with melting or blowing apart easily. I've had good luck using the ones from American RC Boats too.

I run gas boats and use IV bags in all but 1 of my boats. the main thing I like is if you dunk your boat, no water ends up in the fuel system. They are simple, compact and just plain work very well. Ocasionally a bag will fail but I just keep extras around in case one does and it only takes a couple of minutes to put a new one in.

I am building a Conquest Cat at this time also.

Here are some of my build Photos.

Note the Gas Bag Mount....Just an Idea...

Thanks

I run a whiplash GV and also have a Kaos in my garage to build as well. In sport Hydro's I use the 250 ml bags, they fit nice in the nose and have more than enough fuel for mil time and 6 heat laps.
