How often does a Radio Controlled boating event get the front page in the Saturday newspaper...in color? Has it ever happened?

It has now!

Celina, Ohio is an unbelievable city. They welcomed us, helped us with anything we needed, opened their arms and embraced the opportunity to have the Nationals.

Celina wants us back...every year. Thanks to the Driftwood Model Boat Club for starting it all; thanks to CMBC for throwing an awesome event, and most of all thanks to the racers who came into the city and gave only positive memories to the locals. I am so proud of everyone involved!

THANKS TO EVERYONE!

Not in any way trying to steal your thunder but.........

Huntsville, '98 Internats. Three color shots including one of my Concours winning Miller American 1/8th scale. That was sooooo cool to see my boat in the paper! :D

Then a couple years later I got my twin on the cover of the Journal (large D.C. area paper) in color being launched by a fellow club member. Very cool again! :D

ANYTIME r/c boats make it into the paper is a great thing. Congrats & good job Brian!!! B)

Celina was very cool, as were all the people I meet in Ohio! Great racing and even better comaradery! Nice to meet you and your family Brian, you guys did a terrific job. Heck even the waitresses remembered our names!

It shame RCHTA doesn't pay for the article any more. Back in 98 and 99 the Huntsville club got something like $500 for all of the articles we had in the paper and TV. It was a very neat program set for the promotion of RC modeling.
