Rob and the rest of the gang,Andy made a run of AB 21RX Nitro pipes that's supposed to be the same (inside) to the Irwin S pipe.

I haven't tried mine yet, but will soon.

Soooooo many pipes......soooooo little time..... :D

i forgot about that one, just placed an order..thanks MT
Could i get a better pic or the mid range size i may have 2
Here are 2 pics....the one on the eagle and a new one.

Rob,

Is that Stan Simpson's old SG 21?

The S-pipe on the SG is better than the new one on the bench.

What I'm saying is not ALL S-pipes were created equal. ;)

Andy, I bought that Eagle from a person (Gerry P.) here in Alberta a number of years ago. I'm not sure where Gerry got it....Al Hobbs might know more. It has a Nova-rossi with a Geraghty carb and the hull was not painted when I got it (just cleared). Its been an awesome boat all its life and will get a new Nova 35 plus 21 and your new pipe as soon as the engine arrives.

Yes, the pipe on the bench has a longer stinger and some subtle differences.....

This is VERY true.

This is VERY true.

That why I say the AB21RX pipe is "Similar" and not "Exact" to the Irwin 21 Short pipe.

Almost no two where the same as far as rear cone angle. Also, I had Jim make me a special version that I was selling in the late 90's. Irwin S pipes that came through Bill McGraw and others were not the same as our version.

Our version was consistantly 6 mph faster on our Eagle SG/Novarossi combo than the OPS 21 pipe that many seem to like.

68 mph vs 74 mph and the S pipe would hit that speed by half track. The OPS is much slower on acceleration.

Oh, and we could pull off 78 mph occasionally with a perfectly tweaked needle for those of you who like to report your absolute fastest pass! ;)

The Irwin 40 pipes were the same way:)

How long until we can get a AB21RX

Andy, that pipe on the bench in the picture is from CMD. It came in a baggie with a 1/2 sheet of paper with your tuning instructions on it.....I got it from Al Hobbs. The one on the SG has a shallower cone while the one in the pic on the bench looks to have a steeper cone. Is that the reason the one on the SG is better?

Rob,

The one the bench is the from the last batch we got from Irwin.

The one on the boat is an earlier batch and it will have a broader range and rev out a little more.

Norm,

We sold the last one yesterday to Mr Truex.

I'll make some more soon.
