Well I think a "well done" is in order for Tom M for making the change. The popularity of the forum has grown, so the forum needs to grow accordingly.

A lot less hassle - and reduces the likelyhood of some #$%^ ruining it for everyone else.

This forum is probably THE best one I've been involved with. The gang here is great, virtually all have a sense of humor & we have FUN, & THAT is what it is all about. There is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone cruisin' in & viewing the site, that should always remain open. But if you choose to post you need to be responsible & accountable for your actions & requiring that you are registered before you can post is the best way. :D

99.9% of the people in here I would do business with or loan them anything that they needed from my parts boxes. I do feel that the .1%ers that jump in, raise Hell then leave we don't need. Also required should be a basic Bio on their Profile. Screen names are fun and cool if that's your thing (I do have some on other sites) but how about a real name, a general idea of where you live and an age. My Profile is pretty well filled out and had no problem doing it when I first joined up.

The next thing that should be addressed is user names ... I sure hate nicknames as you still don't know who you are talking to .. Scott

I feel nicknames are just fine as long as you show your real name in your signature that you can make appear at the bottom of your posts & everyone should put some info in the bio as well. B)

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Why fuss about "guest" and not registered "big rig"? I don't don't know half of the owners of these nick names. The user name should be automatically included with no other choice.

My name is in blue at the bottom when I'm logged in,

I think quite a few did it that way,

Gene :D
