Well it's that time again everyone!

The Huntsville Model Boaters would like to invite you to the IMPBA Straightline and 2 Lap Record Trials

When: October 5th - 6th 2018

Where: Brahan Springs Park South, 2111 Drake Avenue Huntsville, Alabama

Time: Record Trials will start as soon as lights are set up and everyone is checked in around 8:00am

Classes offered: All ELECTRIC, NITRO, GAS IMPBA LEGAL CLASSES

MONO,HYDRO,SPORT HYDRO, DEEP VEE,UNLIMITED HYDRO,OUTBOARD
Please email classes you would like to run so I can get a running order sheet made.

Please bring your tables, chairs, and Easy ups as it will still get hot in October

Ran and tested today and worked at the lake in Huntsville

Boueys set. Several had worked yesterday with weed eaters yesterday.

Jon Thibodeau brought his lawn mower which was a VARY LARGE KABOTA 0 turn mower made the race site look excellent

So bring your boats and go for a RECORD
 
It was nasty hot!!!!!

But there were 3 records set.

David Hall/ Tommy Lee. B Tunnel. Saw. Just short of 69 mph average

Kim Grim. Crackerbox. SAW. 48.42 mph average

Kim Grim. Crackerbox. 1/4 mile 2-Lap. 29.48 seconds

Weather is expected to be the same tomorrow.

I will update tomorrow night with final numbers
 
Well another Time Trials in the books. Friday and Saturday we had great water all day but the heat was horrible. But we still put up some records. Here are the final results.

SAW

David Hall / Tommy Lee. B O/B Tunnel. 3.268 68.849 mph

David Hall / Tommy Lee. C O/B Tunnel. 3.313. 67.914 mph

Kim Grim. LSG Crackerbox. 4.455 sec. 50.50 mph

2- Lap

Chris Grim LSG Crackerbox. 1/4 mile. 28.485 sec

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped and ran boats. See you next month on Thanksgiving weekend.

Once again thanks to both Grim families for doing a great job in really hot weather. And yes Terry I am still going and you haven't seen the numbers this boat can put up if we get all our ducks lined up. I have been waiting for 5- months since the April TT's for this event and 2- days before I had knee problems. Bruce Jacobs has a really good video of the C-record run and maybe he will post it up here.

I'm not an O/B guy but I've heard of the "Tunnel Mafia" and I even met another fast guy that has the same name as a famous Nascar driver but you boyz better be worried 'cause the General "Tommy E. Lee" is out of retirement!
