So I was browsing the IMPBA site because my club needed some electric rules.

This is what I found....Updated last year but at least 10 years out of date.

What gives?

Brushed Motors, NIcads and Stock 05.... Really....This is the best we can do.

Most clubs I know are incorporating FE classes into the mix. Lets get this cleaned up.

Without argument. The board should just do it.

Wow 6 days and not even a nibble. Guess it was "Etcetera'd" to conclusion over on the OSE forum. I downloaded and completely reviewed the current rules posted. There is a structure for for P-T classes that works. Yes the brushed stuff is there but there may be someone owning equipment who doesn't want to see it deleted. What we don't have is a national rule structure for the limited or spec motors. I have had conversations with some who do not want a class for records and others who feel it is best left to local clubs for their needs. Much like congress that works well not doing anything and passing it to the states. The ESC debate may be the biggest factor as motors seem generally agreed upon. Lack of national rules even for a sport classification being left to clubs to me is not the best way to encourage participation. Most people shy away from an investment that may only be able to run at your own club and not be welcomed by another. If there never was a rule structure for the Sport B Tunnel class would it have the participation nationally it has today? Or would it be squables between different areas? No US-1 and still the biggest class at the Internats. So not being in the record book didn't kill it. What makes it is simple availiable motors and a chance to win without spending a lot. Spec is growing under the pavement no matter if you feed it or not. Do we cultivate it or just let it get too big to tame later?
