I have a boat i got on a trade and the radio glitch in it bad when the engine is running. So i took the drive cable out of the boat and stared it and no more glitch. Is there a plastic tube that runs in the brass tube that the cable runs in. it is a inboard engine with speedmaster hardwear on it. I checked there web site but i did not find any thing like this. What it is doing is the cable is rubing the houseing and making the radio go wild. Thanks George

I have run both with and without a teflon liner in my stuffing tubes with no problems. If it is a gas motor make sure it has a resistor spark plug in it. Hope this helps.

Sometimes the glitching comes from metal to metal contact. Is there any grease at all in the tube?? Sometimes people don't grease the tubes and it will make the glitching start due to the contact.. Best thing to do is use some Trailer or Marine grease. You can buy a large tube from Home Depot or Kragen for $3 or $4 bucks. Besides the trailer grease I use a White Lithuim spray grease that really gets up into the tube well. Try that.

Also, sometimes even if you think you found the problem it's not the only contributing factor. Change or charge up the batteries for the TX and the RX. Sometimes the tip of the antenna from the radio is too close and will make the servos glitch.

Next, if there's rusty metal screws in the radio box that can do it to.

Do you have another set of crystals for the radio and receiver??? Those can go bad, I've seen guys go crazy and gut their boats and spend a ton of money simply to find out it was the crystals.

Just my $0.02.....

try screwing your antenna in properly. its happended to me a few times

One fix that I heard of a long time ago was to move the reciever as far away from the flex cable as possible.

I had that happen to me, Try putting your dremel against the radio box, if your servos glitch, its caused by vibration. If its metal to metal, You NEED to find it. and fix that so its not metal to metal.

You can also use a grounding strap to ground everything together. Ie. Solder some copper braid from the stuffing tube to one of your engine mounts.
