Are you running a single linkage to the rudder? I'm not sure why it would matter if the motor turned more one direction than the other if it turns sufficiently in both directions to turn the boat. And, if you are running this engine on a hydroplane you probably don't want to make left hand corners anyway.

is the servo & arm centered to start? check your transmitter for steering trim & end point (travel) adj. but if it turns enough, like jerry says, run it.

with this engine on boat why wouldnt i want to make left hand turns . i made a second turn for the boat so it has one on each side of the inner bottom hull

If the boat is a three point hydro, and not a tunnel hull, there are some dynamics that make turning a 3 point hydroplane to the left a challenge. However, the great thing about a model boat is no one gets killed or injured if the boat flips. So, give it a try.

is it a prather i think thats how it was spelled

prather is the right spelling & manufacturer for a lap cat. from the cowl shape and the way it sits on the hull, it looks kinda like a dumas hot shot 4. is it a wood boat/kit?

not thinking, this is a .67/45 boat. did dumas make a '40' size hot shot 4, jd?

Dumas made/maybe still makes a Hot Shot 45 in both glass and wood.

i knew that they still made the abs cowl ("sprint style") .45, was curious if it was ever offered it in the older hot shot 4 style? that what the pic reminds me of, my .21 wood hot shot 4 - very different from the hot shot "sprint style". i have all 3, hot shot 4, hot shot sprint, wood & abs versions-.21 size.

it is all fiberglass kit and it is 36in long i bought the boat and everything to have it run for 100 bucks

off a friend that didnt want it. i thought it was a good deal

if it's fiberglass, it's more than likely a prather, just the cowl itself threw me off. the windshield area isn't like the dumas. enjoy it, sounds like a good deal :D !
