Just watch out for the wind. In April Jim and I spent most of the three days sitting in the truck waiting for decent water; this was the worst wind the Huntsville team had seen. We only got one run in perfect record-setting water on the last day - the rest were in windy to rough conditions which was reflected in the speeds - I never had a single run where I did not throttle the boats through the lights. The IMPBA lights could not be set as low to the water as at Valdosta due to the waves at Huntsville.
I'm not dissing the lake nor the very well-run event - in fact I wish I was going there next week to see Ed again and to try to bump up my embarassing P-Hydro record. It's just that for really fast FE records it can be a risky place....

Jay,

The Huntsville track is open to stong winds but if we are lucky and can catch it on a day when the wind blows for 5 or 10 mins and then lay out for a few minutes, you can make a run while the water still has a little ripple left but no wind at all and then you can get some great runs in. That is what we are looking for. The flip side is like you said, a watching and waiting game.

Even with the chance of wind, we will be there too (depending on the weather conditions).

B) all the choices... thanks I.M.P.B.A. Oct. and Nov. in Huntsville, Speed Week III in December in Valdosta, FE II in March, you folks make life easy for this ole Florida pool-toy boater to make waves!

Ron

Well, I talked to Ed yesterday....did not get any numbers, dah, should have. Ed said that Friday and Saturday were a washout and that Sunday he broke some records.

that's it......
