Im sure this has also been covered also but....whats the best way to mount a fake engine in an 1/8th scale hydro? I used cabinet latches one time for a fake engine i made for a Sport 40, but im not sure that was the best way to go...

Good luck this is one of the hard parts of making a roundnose project.

Making some sort of hinge system that keeps the motor on the boat whe it flips is best. Mikeys has a link that hinges at the front and the motor lifts up to start.

The one I made has a link attached to the hull at the front of the engine and to the back of the engine. The engine can be lifted and sit on the front deck to start, then sit back and I made some sliding latches that go under the support studs attached to the hull.

I can atest to the fact that Phil has tried all summer to rip that dang motor off of his boat! He has flipped and flopped and never lost it. Remember, if you loose it, you loose points in IMPBA
