HOBART 2017

Our race will not happen this year. Hobart is building a flood control wall and perhaps moving the 3rd street bridge. Construction will not be complete in time for our race. We seriously looked at 4 other alternate sites and the last one fell thru recently. Maybe next year!

With that in mind, please consider going to the IMPBA Internats at Huntsville this year. It is very rare to have this format now. Racing for US-1 is something to remember.

Stu, sorry to hear about Hobart! But, like you said, we have the up-coming IMPBA Internats, and the chance to go for a US-1. Keep in mind, the Internats is for EVERYONE that wants to race. Don't stay away because you think it's for the "elite", you'll probably end up racing with the people you do already. You don't have to enter the trophy trials, come just for the heat racing. The things you can learn in just a few days at the Internats would take you years staring at computer screen.

Well stated Steve. Over the 35 or more years of racing the Internats has always been the best racing event I have attended.

The format the build up from the straight away record trial to the end of heat racing to determine the US 1 winner is like NO OTHER RACE

Often the US 1 winner is not determined until the last heat

When I won US 1 in FHydro that same year I missed US 1 in F Mono by 25 points.

Strategy plays a role beginning with first event Straight Away record trial. Play it safe with a small prop and get points or GO BIG to win the Straight Away event
