I've been all over the wife tihing. My first wife was a true "Jewell". Smart, good looking and gave me three truely delightful kids. Although she had no desire to race, wrench or build, she was my biggest racing fan back in the good old days when the wives came to races and not only helped with the admin work, but whooped, hollered and cheered us on when we were racing well. Cancer took her in '89. Since then it's pretty much been one model boating hater after another. So... instead of a wife, I now have an incredible 18X22 ft addition to my house (finished last summer) that I refer to as "The Pit" and I am back to building my own hydros after a 15 year lull. It's allways happy to see me when I get home. loves it when I make a mess (especially the saw dust and lathe/mill shavings). Never gives me any #%&P. Allways there when I want it - never around when I don't. When asked about being "single", my answer is: "I'd rather want what I don't have than have what I don't want!"

No worries Gene, as soon as it happened I started planning my next trip to the US, look out Gas Nats, here I come! The joys of being a bachelor :D

Tim be careful what you wish for!

That's not a problem Mike, we leave Wednesday July 7th. Let me have your email address and I will send you all the details we have so far. Looking like about 12 guys going at present.

Bill Annabel.

Thanks Billy, but I am going to IMPBA GAS Nats in Ohio in June. I don't know why IMPBA seperates them but I had already made plans when I figured out it was not at the same time as you guys. I would have loved to travel to both NAMBA and IMPBA but it just did not pan out for me. Ian and I were arguing over dates when I realized it was the GAS nats that I had planned for. Ohio really works for me though as I have a few friends to catch up with there. ;) Accomdations are all booked as well as a workshop and tools! :)

I must be one of the lucky ones!!! I have a nice wife that doesn't care if I spend all my time in the shop and at races. She comes to the ones she can get off work for and back when I races r/c cars did the same . And I have my own vertion of "the pit" in the basment . best of both worlds warm shop and warmer bed Scott

Ok, I might not race, but the wife is right next to me running a boat / truck / car.. It don't matter what we run, she has the radio in hand. And if you are wondering, she starts her own boat too... Here's the problem.. If I buy something, have to buy two..

Mark...

Hey guys I am the lucky guy married to a race loving woman .Hap Mulvany I don't know why I was listed as a guest.

Well, since we're praising our wives. Mine loves modelboating so much that she told me that we are moving to Florida :D cause there is a lot more r/c racing there than here in N.M. Hmm, come to think of it that's where our oldest daughter lives . <_< Really, she loves to watch fast and close racing.

My "Boss" won't let me go to the US NAMBA and IMPBA nats this year unless I take her too. Problem is it's approx. $5,000Au each. I can afford 1 but not 2.

TimD racing: Looking for a very generous sponsor!
