I have lived in Florida for a long time and I have never had problems with hurricanes, this will be the fourth storm in six weeks to hit Florida and two have gone through Orlando with this one expected to as well. I am sure that once we get through this hurricane season we wont see another like it in Florida at least in my lifetime so while it is bad now it will be paridise once again.

The last one postponed a race in Ft Lauderdale and now this one has made me have to cancel a race I had set for Orlando this weekend. We will let everyone know if and when it will be rescheduled.

Please bear with me if you place or have an order pending.............

Thanks!

Ron

Now THAT is smart thinkin', don't have take it down 'til end of hurricane season! :p

Hey Mark, We are right now about 40 miles SW from the eye and it is very windy and rainy. Give it about a 1/2 hour and that pic will be what Don Riek looks like

Don F yep thats what I am doing with the plexi, I put it up in August just before the first one and it has been there since. The way this season is going I will probably not take it down till November when the season is supposed to be over.

I hear the Governor has decided to change the state flag to a blue tarp   . You have to laugh to keep from crying :( . Ivan ripped Pensacola a new a$$hole and left us Panama City folks wondering how we're going to get to the race in Slidell in October. I-10 and highway 98 suffered significant damage.

Bob,

I feel for you brother. My organization has an office at NAS Pensacola about .3 miles from the bay. One bldg had 5' of water, 1' deep of mud on the first floor and wasted everything. Not sure the bldg can be saved as it may have structural damage. Lucky we had another bldg next to it with a loading dock 4' high before you get to the 1st floor. Operations had to moved into the higher bldg. No permanent power as of last Friday.

Any idea as how Chris, Glover and company fared?

John

Not having Hurricanes up here is one of the few things that we don't have to worry about. We got rain up the Wazoo this past Spring with the rivers higher than I've ever seen. Not a bad year for Tornadoes either but they are talking about a nasty Winter coming this year.

John,

Glover, Keith and I faired pretty well. A little p.o.'d though, Could'nt make the Atlanta race the following weekend. Just to much to clean up.

Keith talked to Chris a couple of days after. He stayed in his home for the storm, but he's ok. Lost most of the trees around his house but the house is intact with little or no damage and his shop is ok. Just no power.

Some poeple wheren't so lucky. A family of 5 was killed in the Blountstown area when a tornado turned the house they were in into sticks and deposited it or what was left of it in a field across the street. Pretty bad.

Ron,

Don't worry about the bearings I ordered from you. I still need them but I'm in no hurry. Just send them when things settle down and life gets back to some degree of being normal.

Robert they are on the way to you now!

Glad to here all you guys are ok up there considering!

This was our third storm to come through Orlando and the worst of the 3 however the house is fine. I have talked about moving from this house but it sure has taken care of us well!

Later..........Ron

Bob,

Glad to know that everyone faired pretty well for a huricane. Was thinking about Chris, Lisa and the kids. If they stayed in the house, I would think that Lisa was beside herself! Then Chris's business. Expected a major slam dunk and washout. Really glad to hear it wasn't!

These hurricanes can really put racing into the right perspective in the priority of life!
