Yep I agree Mike with keeping the smell down, I do it late when she's asleep, like the oven thermostat, seems to be accurate,If you hose it down with brake clean and then rinse it thouroughly in hot water before you put it in the oven that pretty well keeps the smell down.I also use the oven method with no problems.One more piece of advice if you use the oven method,make sure your wife or whoever shares your oven is not home!
I heat at 350 degrees , and bearings just fall out, re-heat case after cleaning, new ones just drop in.
Then I have crank, flywheel , and collet ready to tighten while it is still hot, should show free movement
and minimal end play.
