Hardwood triangle stock

Hi Gents - I have been searching for triangle stock but haven’t had much luck. The LHS and big box craft stores have them in balsa but looking for something in hardwood. Anyone have any ideas where I can get some? Looking for something between 1/4” and 1/2” triangle.

It is some very hard stuff to find. I needed it a long while ago now and gave up and just cut my own.

Bought some 1" square and cut the corners off in the table saw.

I have a Micro mark table saw I also make my own but if you don't have a table saw try Balsa USA .

Archie, not sure what your using it for but home depo has 1/4" oak corner molding, but the inside is not flat, I can send a picture later, and possibly the scan # if it's still on it.

Balsa USA has some triangle stock that’s not Balsa

You can cut in on the band saw. If you make a split jig. Cut two pieces of 3/4 with a triangle notch in a flat side. Take the two flat sides and screw them together. Then mount that to a board you can clamp across your table close to the blade. Push the square stock thru onto the blade. I find it work best with a pulling method from the back side. You need to make your square hole nice an tight. Mine has different sizes in it.

I used to get it from Tower Hobbies, but who knows now. Locally might try home depot, lowes, Michaels or Hobby lobby.

hopefully in a few hrs I will have an answer for you, as long as the inside doesn't need to be flat, if your reinforcing something, I think this would be fine

Aircraft Spruce is a very good vendor. I have used their Spruce triangle strips frequently, at least when I was still building wood boats

If basswood works, I've used doll house cove molding in the past and it worked well. The only down side is sanding after sealing...

The proper sized cove molding makes a perfect simulation on wood scale Merlin/Allison powered hydroplanes that have the curved pan between the stacks and the deck. I used it on several round nosed boats I built including my 68 Bardahl that were painted an aluminum color. This boat was my first build in 1999. I can hardly believe that I've been doing this for 24 years now.
