I have been lacks on this build with the weather but ready to get it finished. Next up, 1/4 Aluminum backing for the right sponson transom cut out. I like to get the turn fun bracket as far out and as low as possible. I will be using a Virginia Craftsman sport 40 fin. I have been debating on if I wanted to use 6061 or 7075 for this. In the photo is a piece of 6061. Next I will have to really rough it up with sand paper and glue in place.

Btw before I glued the wood for the sponson, I took the transom for the right sponson and made a copy of it so I could cut out a paper template.

Sam at first I was excited to find one that was cut, thinking I made an extra one from last year, but realized it was the extra one from the sport 20 I built at the beginning of 2024. So I cut another, and that gave me a good reason to get a new bandsaw blade, boy that makes a world of difference. We are going to have some great sport 40 racing this year my friend.

Mine is ready for decks. Gonna start glueing them on tomorrow.
