Nicely done! I like the adjustable front boom on the tub, a simple way to dial in AOA or level out the sponsons.

Yes this boat has the ride pads and ski glued on so adjustments can be made on the the plates and 1/16" pins will locate the original AoA. I know that is not the way Niklas designed the boat but it's what Greg wanted and he is paying the bill. I used the Zipp boom tube sleeves andmade a blister on the front because of the angle of the side . Maybe some eyeballs on the boat to see better? I have cowls and turn fin mounts and fins available if someone needs them?

Regarding how "I designed it": Well, thats the drawback of giving your hart and soul designs away for free (for anyone to make their "own"). But thats (mostly) all good, of course, as it has (hopefully) made some new riggers come out on the drink. But for sure it can make it somewhat more challenging to get it to work for the ones that alter the original design.

Fyi: Alternations to the original designs does'nt automatically make it bettter or faster

That's true but like I say it is set to the original AoA and if changed can be brought back by installing the pins. You design great boats Niklas and the second one I will build for myself will be set-up as per plans with tape on ski and pads so we can see the difference. I did install blind nuts on the front boom on mine just in case I change my mind.

Brad does great builds and for the T3 design, I'm a real fan, my 21 T3 is a super stable rocket, couldn't be happier. When Brad first shared the idea of an adjustable front boom, I wasn't certain how I felt

about that but in the end it proved to be a mute point as the only adjustment I needed to make was to tweak the turn fin a bit. The actual AOA is set at Niklas's original design specs, no adjustment required. Other than that, the little green beast flew perfectly and at screaming speeds. If I was to personally do the build I would make both the front and rear booms fully adjustable. Over the years I have found this method of flight tuning to be the easiest and the most versatile. Niklas original design is to adjust the ride through adding or removing ride height through different two sided tape thicknesses and which does the same thing but not having any real experience with those tapes I chose to go with what I have been most familiar with. As for this new 45 KEPS boat, I think for the most part my tuning experience should be very similar, however the boat will be heavier, race water rougher, race speeds a bit faster, all things being equal it should all be relative but we'll see what the truth of that will prove out in testing. The one design feature that I continue to push the envelope on is that when I leave the beach there is only one speed WOT, Niklas has advised and coached that just ahead of each turn it is best to back off on the throttle momentarily to let the boat settle into the water and then throttle through and out of of the corner. In the heat of the race, I continue to struggle with that notion. In my first race with my 21, I was able to hold it wide open right to the finish and with no ill handling traits. Will that be possible with the 45, we'll find out. Looking forward to toying with this new 45 and when Brad has it done.

propellers it will make it easier to dial in the set up.

He has awhile to go as it still needs to be rigged and painted. It would be towards the end of the season I think. I am working on mine but also getting boats ready to race.

Easy to tune the ride with no tape or ride pad removal being necessary, that makes the most sense to me and have so many years of doing just that. But, in every sense, this is a KEPS T3, just skinning the same cat from a different perspective. I believe we're honouring your design Niklas and with no disrespect to your hard work. Looking forward to toying with this 45 design when Brad's done.

I am still testing new and old designs together.

We have found a few modifications that make the old ones perform better.

I think Jim has his hands full in his shop trying to keep up with demand?

It looks like last year when Jim could not keep up with the ever growing demand

for his new designs. Record trials are also keeping him busy, so new design

development is still growing also. Keep up the good work Jim Schaefer at ABC Propeller

in Columbus, Ohio.
