Hello, getting back into boats. I had one in my teens. I don't recall the name. It was wood with a mono hull and flat bottom. I had a K&B 3.5 outboard on it.

A few years ago I purchased a couple mono hulls not knowing much about them. One was a forabuck 49in and the other is a Mountain Hobbies Lighting 46. Also bought some clutches and shoes, one of the shoes being Teflon. I do not the brand.

For the forabuck I purchased a Zenoah 300 stock. The boat came with some running hardware with it.

I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions going forward like cg, props etc.

nice boat, what i would say is to get involved with a local club. if you can see the boats running its so much easier to put yours together, the right guy can help you out. most of our race boats do not run a clutch but it may be easier for you. good luck with your build

Hi John,
Appreciate the advice of looking for a support group. I'm look at this boat more for recreation.
I have a Mountain Hobbies Lighting 46 that I was going to create another thread for it. I have an OPS .67 and a super .80. Both I think is too small for that hull. But that's for another thread :) .

for a fun boat no problem, zippkits makes a great selection of hardware at a good price, new or used motor mounts and radio box hardware. should be a great boat

I finally finished the Four a buck mono and was able to run it last week. What a blast. Everything went pretty well. Stock Zenoah 300, 7016 prop, CMB pipe.
Top speed was 42 mph. Handling was OK at three quarters throttle and below. Had bad chine walk above that. I'll start looking for a lower lift prop.
